ROYAL OAK NEWS

Ben Carr has started hosting a series of evening at the Royal Oak Malborough (01548 561 481). The evenings have been strongly supported by the talents of The Hot Rats band (Ben Carr on vocals and guitar, James Carr on drums, Tom Carr on bass, Joe Sterry on sax). It has opened up an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a pub which is serious about putting on music with some very classy and diverse bands and artists. The pub is also famous for it's food, music festival and weekly folk session (every Wednesday).

If you are interested in any forth coming events please email me at benny_guitar_carr@yahoo.co.uk for information on exciting news and gigs at the Royal Oak. Please see our reviews here!

The Hot Rats have had a very  successful year in '07. Besides the launch of our album, Red Hot, It was a year that saw an opening to play at Dartmouth Festival, Plymouth Maker as well as Malborough Music Festival. We have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Tony Joe White, Otis Taylor, Johnny Dickinson, Vince Lee, Julian Piper, as well as lots of really great bands. We have had the chance to expand on the venues we have played at, including a great new club in Plymouth called Annabel's.

This year we are looking forward to doing some bigger and better things and some more great collaborations. Watch this space for future jams nights at The Royal Oak, Malborough and the launch of our second album.

A very big thank you goes out to Vince Lee for all of the really cool times we've had with you, and all of your help with the album production. Another big thanks goes out to ex Hot Rats drummer, Aidan Sinclair. We wish you the very best for 2008. A big thanks also goes out to my family, James and Tom, my partner Leanne and all of fans and people who come out to see us - Ben Carr
